Jamaica’s Yona-Knight Wisdom

While Jamaica was still celebrating the worldwide celebration of Emancipation Day, Jamaica’s Yona-Knight Wisdom won the silver medal in diving at the Pan Am games in Peru.

Mexico’s Juan Manuel Celaya scored 435.60 points and achieved gold. Jamaica’s Knight-Wisdom was second at 429.90 with the silver, and American Andrew Capobianco took the bronze with 411.25. Knight-Wisdom’s emancipation gift was well received in Jamaica as the accomplished dived continues to instill pride in the citizenry of and lovers of Jamaica.

Knight-Wisdom is Jamaica’s 1st international representative in this competition that rarely sees any Caribbean representation. Knight-Wisdom continues to represent Jamaica and the region at the highest levels.

Yona stated on his twitter page, “we just take a minute to appreciate that this used to be my worst dive on 3m. I just scored 81.6 points on it on 1m and someone even gave it a 9 PLUS I got 429.90 overall someone tell me how that’s possible please”?
